Jessica Gaynor
Guest Teaching Artist
Jessica Gaynor is a choreographer, performer, mover, teacher, and yoga enthusiast based in New York and Berlin. Her work, known for its "risk-laden" (DIY Dancer) choreography and "sophisticated approach to pure dance" (The New Yorker), has been presented at venues throughout the US and Berlin, including Jacob's Pillow Inside/Out, The Skirball Center/NYU, Dance: Access at Danspace Project, Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Kitchen, Hosek Contemporary, Lake Studios and more. Jessica works as a repertory teacher and guest choreographer at the Berlin Dance Institute, teaches workshops and performance projects at Tanzfabrik, and is the artistic director of Young Dancemakers Company. She continues presenting her work internationally. As a freelance choreographer, Jessica is interested in collaborating with artists across genres, researching kinetic physicality, intricate patterning, and musicality to explore the complexities of human experience. She loves sharing her passion for dance and movement with people of all ages and backgrounds, encouraging them to share their stories through movement. Jessica earned a BA from Brown University and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts.
