Mark Tredinnick

In 2020, Mark Tredinnick was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to literature and education. In 2023, he won China's most significant prize for a “ foreign" poet, the Golden Tibetan Antelope International Poetry Prize. His other honours include the Montreal Poetry Prize, the Cardiff Poetry Prize, the Blake and Newcastle Poetry Prizes, ACU and Ron Pretty Poetry Prizes, two Premiers’ Literature Awards, and the Calibre Essay Prize. The Blue Plateau, his landscape memoir, was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Prize. Most recently, Mark has published the poetry collections House of Thieves (2023), Nine Carols (2023), and A Beginner’s Guide (2022). His many other books are the acclaimed titles Gathered Distance, Almost Everything I Know, Bluewren Cantos, Fire Diary, and The Little Red Writing Book. He is a celebrated Australian poet, essayist, and writing teacher. As a father of five, he lives with his partner and his father on the Wingecarribee River in Gundungurra Country.
